Psalms 2:1-3 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
To the world it seem as if all is well between the UN and Israel, but the realty exist there are plans being worked out in the background to divide Israel. On the front the governments of the world are showing strong support for Israel, but only because they know to act is to expose their evil plans.
Waiting for the opportune time in secret they are working out the details of their mission, and believing they are not being watched they are confidently moving toward their final resolution. But what they are not aware of, is that there is an all seeing eye watching over the nation of Israel, and their plans against the recently born nation. Just when they find it fit to attack the new born state of Israel God will judge the nations for their actions.
Psalms 2:4-5 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
God is warning the nations to turn away from their evil plans, but will they listen. He has installed his king on the throne he has established for him in Jerusalem. If the nations fail to repent, this king God has established on the throne of Israel will break them to pieces and they will not recover from this blow.
Psalms 2:6-9 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
Calling the nations of the world to wisdom God has provided the opportunity for the world to be saved from the wrath he is about to pour out against those un-repented nations. Unless they abandon their evil plan, and mission, they will anger the Lord who will show from heaven with judgment destroying the nations who had plotted against his kingdom and people.
Psalms 2:10-12 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish
