After the fall of man, and the murder of his brother, Cain went off to establish for himself a kingdom, separated from God. And over a span of time, men would creation a society where there would be a struggle, one between faith, and disbelief. Faith always seem to stand the test of time, in a world created and dominated by Cain-anites, people holding the view of Cain denying the existence of God.
Genesis 4:16-17 And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
Creating this rebellious society, Cain brought his son up to believe there is no God, he taught his son his evil ways, and as a result, we have today a world dominated by men who believe there is no God. Nevertheless, it is a false claim, because like Cain they knew God, for God has made himself known to all of mankind, which leads us to ask the question, “Is there a God?”
The question, “Is there a God” is brought about based on the fact that there is a God. People don’t go about asking questions to things to which there is no answer? If we don’t know, or have the answer, we often go out in search of the answer, and although we might have been given many different answers, when the truth comes, we are told it shall set us free.
John 8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Although we have the truth, as Christians devoted to Christ, to the world we are dumb and foolish. What we present to the world is the truth, but through their eyes, we are nothing but people in distress. When we speak they put up a wall of defense, and often times we are wasting our time trying to get through to the world.
I am not saying we have wasted our time trying to reach out to the world, we were sent to the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. A gospel that declares the kingdom of Christ to come, and if the world responds, we are told, “John 6:37-38 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.”
Nevertheless we are to remember, in the eyes of the world we are fools, spreading lies, nonsense concerning eternal life. Yet when we look around us, we see the world searching for this truth. We are dumb according to the world’s standard, but wise unto eternal life, on account of Jesus Christ and His kingdom to come. How then are we to help the world? How can we help them to understand the gospel? Before we go about ministering to the world, let us first tear down the walls of defense, through prayer, and with knowledge of the word of God, teach from a heart of love.
When the world mock and kick at us, remember, “1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” The world is dead on account of sin, but we are alive on account of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:15-16 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. Look for the up coming book, (Everlasting Kingdom — age of the Gods)
